Alyssa House Board of Directors

Committed to the Helping Families

Meet the Board of Directors: Meet the Team

Lynn Divers

Board Chair & Alyssa's Mommy

Lynn's favorite title remains 'Alyssa's Mommy,' and lends her experiences as a public speaker and Development Director to be our "Spokes-mommy."

Lynn cherishes time with her surviving daughter, Alyssa’s sister, Lexie. Love for dance still fills much of their free time.

Jeff Divers

Alyssa's Dad

Jeff Divers, is a bilingual editor and translator. American born, but raised in Argentina, he is fluent in Spanish and intimately familiar with the cultures of Latin America.  Additionally, he spent several years counseling children in both hospital and wilderness settings.

Jeff has experienced first hand the divisive pressures of caring for his family during Alyssa’s illness while working full time, including the financial and logistical challenges of procuring housing while seeking treatment for Alyssa a long way from home.

His family has also experienced the blessings of having housing prepared and provided for them with minimal effort and cost.

Julia Davis

Julia has a background in communications, journalism, social media management, and photography. Julia manages contact with our Alyssa House guests, and maintains all web, social media, and graphic design.

She works at the University of Virginia School of Law in communications and photography.

Bibi Rahim

Board Member, Operations

Bibi graduated from UVa in
2015 with a bachelor in anthropology. As a graduate of UVa and a 15 year
resident of Charlottesville, Bibi values the importance of giving back and
encouraging civic engagement among community members. She is
passionate about making a difference and coming into contact with people
of varying backgrounds and learning about the different cultures, religions,
and ways of life around the world.

Bibi’s passion for The Alyssa House
comes from her experience as someone that witnessed a family member go through tremendous challenges and recovery at the hospital.
