Some wonderful news for our current Alyssa House family... After 5 months of waiting Sawyer finally received his new heart! We are overjoyed for Sawyer and his family, and this truly incredible blessing. 💙 Thank you to all who continue to support The Alyssa House and make our mission possible.

Some bright news in the midst of all this... Aiden's mom reports his hair is starting to grow back! Aiden stayed at The Alyssa House for 5 months while battling synovial sarcoma. 💙 We urge our community members to help protect immuncompromised individuals like Aiden by practicing proper hand washing and social distancing. #flattenthecurve

As COVID-19 as it makes its first appearance in Charlottesville, our mission and values at The Alyssa House remain the same — to provide free housing, love, and care for immunocompromised children being treated at the UVA Children's Hospital. The Alyssa House is doing what we can to ensure that our current guest family is safe and being cared for during this time.
